1. Will the metal used for mechanism and spikes rust?

All metals used are Tungsten Carbide and 303 Stainless steel, 100% rust proof. Additional replacement spikes available on our product page. 303 Stainless Steel Spikes and Tungsten Carbide replacement spikes

Spikes are replaceable with the spike tool provided; the spike tool must be used when replacing spikes, as it is a torque wrench.

Kickspike boots are not designed with steel toes. However, they are designed using ASTM certified composite safety toes. Kickspike boots feature toes made made from composite materials instead of steel, due to the benefits composites provide in comparison:

The plastics used are of the highest quality. We’ve chosen 20% glass filled nylon Delrin 3000; it is the same plastics NASA used for the space shuttles tools.

Yes, boots are specifically made to have spikes deployed on ice & snow, just like other traction devices, wearing them on these surfaces is NOT RECOMMENED! Simply click them off before walking on these types of surfaces.
